Tai chi movements are widely acknowledged to help calm the emotions, relax & focus the mind, and strengthen the immune system. Practiced at a slow and even speed, tai chi promotes relaxation, natural abdominal-diaphragmatic breathing, aligned posture in coordination with Gravity, and balance and equilibrium. In a very real sense, tai chi helps us to stay younger as we grow older, thus making an outstanding contribution to our overall health and well-being. It also trains our body-psyche to stay calm in the face of stress.

Tai Chi Foundation goals:
“To improve health, well-being, and awareness through the study, practice, and teaching of Tai Chi and Qigong, by an increasing number of people worldwide.”
The Tai Chi Foundation (TCF) is a not-for-profit educational organization that develops and promotes programs that enable people to learn to practice, and ultimately teach, Tai Chi Chuan and its internal principles.
Today, we have over 250 instructors (“apprentices”) teaching Tai Chi classes in 30-plus cities around the world. Each teacher follows the curriculum and team teaching method developed by Patrick Watson. The school’s instructors also gather together regularly (at Winter and Summer Trainings) to continue learning from our most senior teachers.
This helps maintain high standards of teaching and consistency in how the art is taught. Students can study with an TCF teacher and receive the same careful attention to the principles and details of the art of Cheng Man-Ch’ing’s form.

About David Delaney: David began studying Tai Chi at the School of Tai Chi Chuan in Manhattan under the direction of Professor Patrick Watson. David completed all the public training and was invited to join the Apprenticeship Teaching Program in 1991. David taught the basic Tai Chi form at the School of Tai Chi Chuan, Inc., where he had offices for his work with singers and actors for many years. He also headed the teaching teams for the Arica Institute’s Chua K’a Bodywork® as well as Psychocalisthenics® & Advanced Psychocalisthenics® Trainings. Today, David enjoys teaching actors and singers Tai Chi because it has such a positive impact on posture, natural movement, instinct, and relaxation, all key skills for virtuosic singers and actors.
