The Tomatis® Method is an audio-vocal training program. It understands that it is the ear that sings if you know the how the ear and the brain interact. And we know how to improve listening, which has an immediate impact on singing as well as memory, emotional regulation, and ability to benefit energetically from one’s own voice among many others things.
Like any training approach, it must be done in a sustained, repeated way by alternating it with resting phases for integration and assimilation. It’s just like going to the gym! Each program is customized and defined by David who is a Tomatis® Certified Consultant, following a complete assessment of your listening abilities. These listening training sessions are pre-programmed precisely for your listening profile and can be conducted at home.

PRELIMINARY INTERVIEW
Initial Evaluation/Consultation
The Tomatis® Method is offered by professionals specialized in the fields of health and education (Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Speech Therapists, Singing Voice trainers & therapists, Specialized Educators, Psychometricians, Certified coaches …).
You will be given an individualized assessment adapted specifically to your concern, followed by an interview with a professional specialized in dealing with your particular concern or issue.
David can administer a listening assessment with a device known as the TLTS (Tomatis Listening Test System). This assessment helps us to identify your listening potential and any possible dysfunctions that are constraining your ability to sing and perform at your best.
Minimum 3 LISTENING SESSIONS (PASSIVE PHASE)

David Delaney will create an exclusive musical program tailored to your needs baed on your goals and the Listening Assessment. During your passive listening sessions, you will use the device called the TalksUp®.
During the listening programs with the portable TalksUp® device with headphones, it is important that you feel relaxed. All activities are accepted as long as they are not stressful or require too much concentration. You can draw, walk, play, cook… But we don’t recommend eating (or chewing gum), using other electronic devices (avoid screens) or making your sessions in any kind of transportation.
The duration, the rhythm and the number of sessions are determined by the Tomatis®professional that you have chosen. In general, the program includes sessions of up to 1 hour and 20 minutes which are conducted over a 14-day period.
Between each period, you take a break of several weeks to a month and a half. These pauses are called “integration phases” and the Forbrain® or Infinite Headphone device will be used 15 minutes per day to consolidate your learning process. They will be followed by another Listening test and intermediate interviews before resuming a next listening session. We test after each of the 3, 2 week training sessions, in order to see what has actually occurred in your listening skills.
Once the listening sessions are finished, you are given an exit Listening Test and assessment, which allows us to measure your progress and to determine if further sessions are recommended. The results obtained with the Tomatis® Method are long-lasting, even permanent, and consequently it is often not necessary to extend the sessions beyond the initial course (though sometimes, for certain problems, extending the program may be advised).
